HLSC Junior Activities Team….

Presentation Day Changes – 19th March – PLEASE READ

Hi everyone,

This message is for all our nippers (including starfish) who are attending our Junior Presentation Day tomorrow.

As you may be aware, the weather forecast is not great – it will be cold, a bit windy, and it will probably rain at some point.  The EPA have also put out a Poor water quality forecast so we’re unable to run any water based activities.  We know our Age Group Managers will be particularly upset at not being able to do their annual board relay race this year!

Therefore we have taken the difficult decision to cancel all outdoor activities and focus on running the Nippers Awards Presentation Sessions in the hall only.  These sessions will last 30 minutes for each age block below.  We appreciate that some families straddle multiple sessions but we hope that you’ll bear with us.

We will have the BBQ going on the balcony instead of downstairs, and we will be opening the kitchen/bar instead of the Kiosk – so kids will still be able to purchase ice creams and drinks, parents will be able to purchase a beer, wine and other drinks from 3pm onwards.

(Please note as we will be serving alcohol – the kitchen is strictly off limits to all children).

Nippers – the sausages are on us tomorrow buying diazepam thailand (one each please) as we think you have earned it !

See below for your Award Session – please note that we are making TWO special awards in each age group for most improved nipper and best team player, so you are all still in contention for a medal but we would like you to be in the room to receive it.

What to bring –

  • Your HLSC top (T-Shirt or Rash-Vest, no singlets).
  • Black/dark shorts (no bathers – this is for photography)
  • Your parent and their camera.
  • Some money for the Kitchen/Bar.
  • A loud voice for congratulating our winners.

When you arrive –

  • Grab your nippers colour cap and a voucher for your sausage.
  • Take a seat on the floor as instructed by our team.
  • Send your parents to the back of the room to grab a drink and a good photo position.

Awards Sessions –

  • 3:00pm to 3:30pm – oldest groups (U11, 12, 13, 14)
  • 3:45pm to 4:15pm – middle groups (U8, 9, 10)
  • 4:30pm to 5:00pm – youngest groups (U6/7) and Starfish
  • 5:00pm onwards – social / sundowners (bar open)

See you all tomorrow!

Regards,
Gary Doyle

Surf Education Awards

We will be emailing surf education awards (where applicable) from Surfguard instead of purchasing and printing hardcopy certificates this year.  The hardcopy certificates are very expensive and we always end up throwing many away when they are not claimed each year.  Please ensure that your correct email address is assigned in your nipper’s portal account.

Want to help with the program next season?

If you have enjoyed our program, or can see areas we can improve – we need your help next season!  We’re looking for a number of people to step into nippers management roles including administering, planning and running the program.  We will start our debriefing and initial planning for next season soon in an open forum for those interested in joining us or hearing about what we do.  Look out for details in the next couple of weeks.

See you on the 19th March for the last time this season.

Juniors – 2nd March 2016

Hi everyone, this weekend is our last surf education session for our nippers before we break for the Victorian Junior State Championships next week.  We will be back on Saturday 19th March for our season-closing Junior Presentation Day (more info on that next week).

BinNotBayOur program is a little different this week – we are very proud to be hosting our friends from the Australian Marine Mammal Conservation Foundation (AMMCF) to discuss the impact of dropping litter into our Bay, specifically on our native Burrunan Dolphin population.

We will be presenting in three groups (U6/7, then U8/9, and finally U10-14) during the afternoon session which means that all sessions will be 30 minutes not 20 minutes this week.

The AMMCF have run this presentation at many Bay Clubs recently and we have heard some fantastic feedback – parents/helpers are also welcome to attend.

Surf Education Awards

In case you didn’t know already – all nippers who attend a minimum number of nippers sessions, and have buy valium diazepam demonstrated that they meet all requirements for their age group, are eligible for their SLSA Surf Education Award.  This is also a requirement if you’re entered for States.

If you are 1-2 sessions short you will be sent an email reminder to attend this weekend.  Between now and Presentation Day we will start emailing your Certificates out as we will no longer be presenting hard copies.  But if you want a hard copy – we still have a few available from last year and will accept a gold coin donation for one.

Juniors – 24th February 2016

Well done to all our Nippers who competed in our Junior Club Championships on Saturday.  It was great to see so many giving their best whilst having so much fun.

Here are a few shots from the day – look out for more photos on display this weekend on the Club TV’s.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the parents who volunteered their time and skills to ensure the day went smoothly and fairly – our Area Officials, Age Group Managers, Water Safety Officers and Support Staff.

We were also treated to a parents where to buy diazepam online flags challenge – a very impressive lineup of 12 brave souls, intent on becoming King, or Queen, of Hampton Beach. The day was eventually won by Michael Pratt, but not before he was tested by some very good runs from the others.

The day finished off with some drinks on the balcony whilst watching our 2016 Junior States March Past Team going through their preparations for the Victorian Title in two weeks time.  We wish them well.
