At Hampton Lifesaving Club we have approximately 400 children involved in our Nippers program and in line with Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) policies, we require all Members over the age of 18 – regardless of their level of involvement – to hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). This includes members who may have other checks already completed as a part of their employment (ie police officers, doctors, teachers etc).
Your WWCC must be registered to HLSC and LSV. This ensures that the Department of Justice can advise HLSC and the local life saving community if there are any issues with any of our adult members which may be of concern.
If you already have a WWCC card, all you need to do is go online on the Department of Justice website to also register it to HLSC and LSV using the instructions HERE prior to applying for membership. It is essential that you use the following addresses when registering your WWCC other wise we will not recieve your application from the Department of Justice:
Hampton Life Saving Club, PO Box 1124, Hampton North, 3188
Life Saving Victoria, 200 The Boulevard, Port Melbourne, 3207
Application forms for a new WWCC are available online and from participating Australia Post outlets. Forms are lodged at Australia Post, however, you may need to make an appointment.
Local Post Offices that provide this service are:
- Hampton Post Shop – 440 Hampton St, HAMPTON
- Hampton North LPO – 575 Hampton St, HAMPTON
- Sandringham LPO – 22 Bay Rd, SANDRINGHAM
- Brighton Post Shop – Dendy Plaza, 34 Church St, BRIGHTON
All the information that you need to complete your application is HERE. Please ensure that you follow all steps and use the correct address for HLSC and LSV, otherwise we will not receive a notification from the Department of Justice confirming that your WWCC has been approved and we will not be able to accept your membership.
