YIPS

Welcome to Hampton’s Youth Involvement Program (YIPs) – a fun, inclusive and social life saving program for all club members 14 -17 years of age.

The only requirements for this program are that you need to:

  1. hold either a Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) or a Bronze Medallion (BM); and
  2. want to join us in this fun, social advancement program.

The SRC/ BM course is held each year, commencing in November, so keep an eye out for the announcements via email/ Facebook/ TeamApp and the Club newsletter.

YIPs are integral, valued and important members of our club. There are numerous opportunities to be involved in a broad selection of club activities, as well as learn new skills in a fun, social environment. Opportunities include a number of different levels in diverse pathways including:

  • Patrols
  • Coaching of Nippers
  • Assistant Age Group Manager
  • Assisting with Starfish
  • Senior Competition
  • IRB Training & Competition
  • Lifesaving Skill Development
  • Leadership Development

In addition, the group holds a number of activities during the season. Examples include:

  • Camp
  • BBQs
  • Annual Decathlon
  • ‘Wake-over’ (sleepover) pizza and movie night
  • Paddles
  • Any other activities set by the YIPs at the start of the season – you choose!
